about

When I had my first date ,with my now wife, we were at a bonfire party, on the beach in San Francisco. I was trying to step up my flirting game and at one point we were right along the shoreline alone. I took her hands and we started slow dancing, while I was humming "Strangers in the Night" by Frank Sinatra (hence my lyrics "You move so sweetly to the music in my mind"). Our feet were splashing in the waves, closely embracing underneath the moonlit skies and it forever left an impression on my heart. Cheesy yes (I am a self proclaimed dork after all), but she laughed and that moment was the beginning of many more magical moments and the inspiration for "Dancing in the Sea".

lyrics

Verse 1:
You move so sweetly to
the music in my mind
Memories of you
play back a thousand times
We sway from left to right
You make me feel so cool
You move in moonlit night
No need to be blue, this love is so true

Chorus 1:
Beach side bonfire, our friends, you and me
Excitement and desire, we're dancing in the sea
Let's take our souls higher, where we can all be free
Dance floors are so tired, we're dancing in the sea
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Verse 2:
This love feels so new
but it's been many years
Met you back in school
Had laughs and some tears
Define devotion
It's that spark in your eyes
Deep as the ocean
Absolve all our lies under moonlit skies

Chorus (repeat)

Bridge:
Jumping in the waves
we turn and we sway
The currents make the music
that we love to play
Our friends all join in
For the melodic swim
Re-cleansed and re-inspired
this is where it all begins
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Verse 3:
You move so sweetly to
the music in my mind
Memories of you
play back a thousand times
Let's take our souls higher
Where we can all be free
Dance floors are so tired
We're dancing in the sea
